Veelgestelde vragen

How do I split a two-page book scan into separate pages?

Upload the PDF, choose Vertical (Left & Right) as the split type, and process it. Each page is cut at the exact midpoint into a left page followed by a right page, so a book scanned two pages per sheet becomes one page per sheet in reading order.

What is the difference between vertical and horizontal division?

Vertical cuts each page down the middle into left and right halves, which suits landscape pages with side-by-side content. Horizontal cuts across the middle into top and bottom halves, top half first, which suits tall pages such as posters or stacked forms.

Can I divide only some pages and leave the rest alone?

Enter a page range such as 1-5, 8, 11-13 in the page range box. Only those pages are divided; every other page is copied into the output unchanged and in its original position. Leave the box blank to divide all pages.

Does dividing pages lower the quality or change the text?

No. The tool copies each page twice and sets a different crop box on each copy rather than re-rendering anything, so text stays selectable, vector graphics stay sharp, and images keep their original resolution.

Can I choose where the cut happens instead of the middle?

No, the split is always at the midpoint of the page. If the content is off-center or you need an uneven cut, use Crop PDF to set the exact area you want for each half.

How many pages will the output have?

Each divided page becomes two pages, so a 10-page document with every page divided produces 20 pages. Pages outside your range still count once, and the halves keep the same order as the original.

The halves come out sideways. What should I do?

Divide Pages doesn't rotate anything, so fix the orientation with Rotate PDF either before dividing or on the divided output, depending on how the scan was made.

Is my PDF uploaded when I divide its pages?

No. The page copying and crop-box changes happen in your browser, and the divided file is written on your device without any upload.
